If a lawyer or other professional has made you worse off than you would have been had they not acted negligently, you may have a claim for compensation. Lawyers for example, are required to provide their services with skill and diligence.
To prove negligence, you have to show they have breached this duty of care. This includes proving that their standard of work was not as good as you could reasonably expect. Being disappointed with the outcome of a case does not necessarily mean your lawyer has been negligent.
