London Lasting Power of Attorney Solicitor

What Is Lasting Power of Attorney?

Lasting Power of Attorney is a legal document. It allows you to appoint someone you trust as an 'attorney'. The attorney can make decisions for you when you no longer wish to, or if and when you lack the mental capacity to do so.

Even if you are in good health it is important to have a lasting power of attorney for your health care and finances. A will is not enough. A lasting power of attorney can put your mind at ease about your future.

Ronald Fletcher & Co. | London Lasting Power of Attorney Solicitor

You need someone with experience to assist you in creating a lasting power of attorney for financial affairs and a lasting power of attorney for health and welfare. We can assist you with the application process, providing you with the personal attention you need every step of the way. We care about our clients and are passionate about achieving the best results for you.

Few London law firms are able to match our level of experience, qualification and successful results. We are able to provide our clients — individuals and families alike — with the personal representation they deserve. We will not delegate your case to inexperienced staff and solicitors. You can be sure your case is in safe hands with Derek Rosenblatt, a senior solicitor with more than 30 years of experience.

Benefits Of Lasting Power Of Attorney:

  • It allows you to plan in advance someone who can make the decisions you want to be made on your behalf if you lose capacity to make them yourself.
  • You are able to chose who you want to make your decisions.
  • You are able to chose how you want people to make these decisions.

Having a Lasting Power of Attorney is a safe way of maintaining control over decisions made for you.

As you consider your options it is important to realise that a lasting power of attorney can be very flexible in order to meet the needs of your situation. For example:

  • You can appoint one or more attorneys of your choice, as well as a successor or substitute attorney
  • You can specify whether your attorneys must act together or are able to act separately or are authorised to act on their own accordance
  • You may include restrictions to limit the scope of your attorneys' powers
  • You can revoke power of attorney at any time

What is Court of Protection?

When a family member becomes mentally unable to manage their affairs and has not signed a lasting power of attorney, you still have an option for protecting them. You can apply to the Court of Protection to be appointed as a deputy, allowing you to take similar action as someone who has been appointed under a power of attorney.
